Building a world class enabling garden in Fife, Scotland, to promote therapeutic gardening & accessibility

LATEST NEWS - 26th March, 2008: 2008 AGM Minutes Available

In 1982 Douglas Bader, an icon for the disabled, opened a garden named after him in Cupar, Fife, which was accessible to wheelchair users. This attracted thousands of people from all over the world and was a valuable community asset. In 2005, local people felt so strongly about the garden's planned closure due to vandalism and poor maintenance that a community action group was formed which is today a registered charity that is entirely community led and controlled.

The charity's aim is to build a financially sustainable, innovative £2m. facility in Cupar's Duffus Park (left) which will be accessible to all, and consist of a multifunctional hub building and a world class garden which will be a tourist attraction.
Our core ambition is to permit people of all abilities and backgrounds to actively participate to the best of their ability in sustainable, environmentally friendly surroundings, and to promote equality.
