The charity seeking to build a £2m. world-class garden in Cupar's Duffus Park is holding an open meeting for members of the public next week (30 th January).
Latest design sketches for the proposed Douglas Bader Community Garden will be available for inspection, while committee members from the voluntary organisation will be on hand to answer any questions.
The event, which will take place in Cupar on Wednesday between 4.30 and 6.30 pm at the VONEF offices in Crossgate, will also be an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about playing a more active part in the registered charity.
Project Manager Andrew Gold said the event was designed to be "less formal" than the charity's AGM, which will take place at 7 pm on February 11 th at Elmwood College. He said: "We are seeking individuals from all walks of life to join our committee at the AGM and to strengthen it so that we can achieve our goal of building a world class garden. People don't need any specialist skills except enthusiasm for the project.
"The open meeting is a good way of explaining to people what we have been doing before the more formal AGM takes place. Even if people don't fancy joining the committee, they are more than welcome to pop along for a chat and to see the latest plans."
The charity is currently working on finalising a masterplan for the design, while funding applications have been lodged in a bid to complete this process.
Mr Gold added: "We are on track to achieve our goals and the fact we obtained outline planning permission last year for the project was a huge boost. However, this year will be critical and the stronger we can make our committee then the better it will look for us when we apply for public funding."
