More About Our Group Board Members
Susan Blake, Secretary, has lived in Cupar for all her life, and worked in local media until 2002. She has had first-hand experience of disability on several levels, is a qualified counsellor, and has worked with a number of charitable organisations in Fife and Dundee.
George Craig designed the original Bader Garden in Cupar in 1982 as North East Fife District Council's Technical Officer. Now retired, he continues to advise the group on various design aspects of the new garden and lives in St Andrews.
Dave Carstairs (left) has been a member of Cupar Community Council for many years, including 5 years as Chairman. During this time he has promoted and helped to finalise several major improvements in Cupar in conjunction with Fife Council and other agencies. Awarded title of Cupar's Citizen of the Year.
Loretta Mordi was elected to Fife Council in 2004 as councillor for Cupar North. She is heavily involved with a number of groups throughout the area, and is currently Chair to Fife Race and Equality Board and Voices of Women, Fife.
Flight Lieutenant Keith Wardlaw, is Corporate Communications Officer for RAF Leuchars , who readily agreed to become co-opted to the Group given Sir Douglas Bader's part in aviation history.
Douglas Shearer is Depute Head of School, Golf & Leisure Studies and Team Leader for Greenkeeping and Horticulture section at Elmwood College , Cupar. An Agronomist and Consultant in Sports Turf Management, he gives advice to local authorities, golf courses and sportsgrounds.
Stewart Bett is Cupar based and has a distinguished track record of voluntary work in the local community.
Dr David John Du Puy, BSc Hons (Botany, Edinburgh) PhD (Kew
Gardens and Birmingham) is self-employed as botanist and a horticulturist, this latter
horticultural business trading under the name: "GARDENS: PLANTING & DESIGN".
David is a specialist in design, creation and planting of Scottish gardens and
landscapes. He also works as a botanist with interests in Madagascar, Orchids,
the Leguminosae family, vegetation mapping, Scottish plants and
conservation.
Our other board members are Marion Stewart, Anne Williams from Fife Society for the Blind, and Paul Traynor from Cupar Cricket Club. Back to home page
