Tuesday, May 08, 2007 Press Release

Former Cupar North Councillor Loretta Mordi (right) has been praised by members of the Douglas Bader Community Garden group following her defeat in last week's Local Authority election.
Over the past two years Liberal Democrat Loretta, who lives in the town with her family, has worked hard to make the group's aims a reality. She has been part of the DBCG organisation since day one, and her enthusiasm for the redevelopment of the garden has been second to none.
DBCG Project Manager Andrew Gold said: "I want to place on record our thanks for her support and advice since 2005 when we began our quest to build a world class facility for the town.
"Loretta has always been a great supporter of the group, and we have certainly enjoyed working with her. We want to wish her every success in the future years."
Loretta Mordi said: "It has been a great privilege to have been able to help, and in particular being part of what I believe is a great initiative and vision for the group and the people of Cupar."
Following last week's election, three Cupar councillors were elected. They were:

Roger Guy Scottish Conservative and Unionist
Margaret Kennedy Scottish Liberal Democrats
Bryan Poole Independent

All three members will be invited to become co-opted non-voting members of the DBCG organisation, which is planning to become a charity.
